The
greatness and fall of the ”Talerens/ Speaker”
The chalk cliffs of Moen is 75 mill. years old tropical ocean
bottom, that was pushed vertically up from the ice 20.000 years
ago. A masterpiece of worldclass.
The sensational slide on friday Jan. 26. 2007, happend by the
place formerly known as the ”Taleren/Speaker”. Such
a sensational slide has not been seen since 1952.

The ”Taleren/Speaker” was a very well known place,
which is now a pinsula of 4,6 hectare. It streches 300 meter
out and 200 meter to the side. The slide is easy to access,
it is only 1 km from Hunosøgård and the Camp site.
The walk it self through Jydelejet is a great experience.
It is however with sadness that our landmark the ”Taleren/Speaker”
is gone. This part was often painted of our great painters of
the golden age. They stayed at Liselund and painted the dramatic
chalk cliffs as contrast to the harmonie of Liselund.
The halfmoon Island of Chalk will be there for years, before
the wind, waves and tide has eaten the new land. A very nice
chalk beach has been created on the south side of the slide,
so this summer we can go for a swim, walk on the old sea bed
finding fossils 75 mil years old or just enjoy the wonderful
light of colours.
The fall of “The Great Speaker” has taken away an
old well known part of the cliffs of Møn, but there are
many more beautiful spots along the 7 km costline of cliffs.
